My Cockatiel is scared of his toys …?
My Cockatiel lovey almost three years Alastor is a little afraid of a new toy we put in his cage. When we did the farmer, he had little or no toys at all, and those he had, he was not at all interested, I it will not get bored, because it is a bit annoying that it constantly wants to be. I am the person he loves most and landed on me mostly, but I must be a school of nearly 8 hours per day. So, what can I do to get to play with toys? I tried introduced slowly towards him, but he flutters around the cage. I also tried to play with him saying: "Bravo!" This is fun! "But I started to think that I look like an idiot. Does this technique works, and how long should it take for him to play with him?
The "whole yay, this is fun! "thing does make you feel stupid, but it usually works …. I still get my birds to try new foods that way. My hatred Tiels toys larger than life and seem much prefer the size of parrot toys tial in the larger toys. You can try to their fav food on the new toy. A spray of millet fate or a spot of peanut butter on it may work if their stomachs are bigger than their fear lol. Leave the toys around the cage for a few days, with nearly every day until you can put in the cage. First turn into a corner where they may be aware it is there but not really approach them until they are ready. Play with your toys while they are out of the cage and perched on you. They may not feel threatened as they would if they were locked in a small area with her. Same just leave it sitting next to you so they can get the idea he does not bite and will not hurt them.
