So you've taken the plunge and booked a family 'get away from it all "break for Christmas … but now you realize exactly what you will be "near" and wonder how you will transport the "family experience Christmas at home" to another country!?

Here are our 10 tips for taking toddlers away for Christmas to ensure you all have a wonderfully relaxing holiday …

1. Involve your children in the travel experience. Get a map and show them where the family is underway. Talk about how many miles you travel – just like Santa himself! Let your kids help pack their bags and even a shop for Christmas gifts for family members with whom you'll be on vacation.

2. Sure they leave a note at home by letting Santa know their temporary location if it can be sure of finding them on Christmas Eve. If Father Christmas be able to jump down a chimney, let the children leave suggestions for an alternative method for distribution. And of course, remember remember to include a drink and a little thin pie (or perhaps a local equivalent!) to your destination. It is sure to be hungry after the trip Supplementary your home!

3. Find out if online retailers give more to your destination. You can even obtain supplies packaged. Remember to plan how you get them home! 7. Check out the local Christmas markets or intend to visit a theme park that opened during the holiday season. Train rides, visits with lights and visits to see Santa some things you can expect to find, no matter where you go on your Christmas holidays.

8. Pack a small bag of supplies your toddler to make decorations for your holiday home. Or pop in the local supermarket on arrival to the cote on the stuff of some Lots of Christmas cookies or patties (although you may need to carry a pot of meat from the house!)
